17-minute Gameplay From Alone in the Dark; Release Date Seems Certain
A lengthy gameplay from the Alone in the Dark reboot has hit the web. The footage looks good enough to suggest that the game's March release may not be in danger.
A long, 17-minute video showing the upcoming Alone in the Dark, a reboot of the acclaimed horror game series has been released online. Fresh gameplay was made available on Game Informer's channel on YouTube (below).
It shows one of the two main characters of the game, Emily Hartwood, who skillfully uses weapons and dispatches terrifying monsters inhabiting the horror-stricken Derecto estate and its surroundings.
The reboot of Alone in the Dark in many ways resembles modern, third-person games from the Resident Evil series - especially the remake of the second installment - which is quite funny, considering that it was first Capcom, by creating the first RE games, which took inspiration from the original Alone in the Dark from 1992.
As befits a good survival horror game, in Alone in the Dark, in addition to shooting, we will take care of our equipment, solve puzzles, and meet other characters, including Edward Carnby - a legendary character for the series, who is also the second playable character.
I must admit that this title promises to be really atmospheric, presenting itself nicely - except for the faces of the characters, which clearly still remember the previous generation of consoles.
Moreover, the technical condition of the game, which we can see in the gameplay above, enables us to assume that the release date set by Pieces Interactive (postponing it once again) for March 20, 2024, will be final and the game will eventually debut on this date.
Let me remind that Alone in the Dark is coming to personal computers, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles.
