10 Things You Should Know Before Playing Diablo Immortal
The world of Sanctuary is unforgiving and you need to prepare yourself well to start fighting demons and the undead in Diablo Immortal. In this text, you will find some useful tips that will help you start your adventure in Blizzard's newest game.
Diablo Immortal took the mobile gaming market by storm and proved that a smartphone game for all intents and purposes can maintain a high level known from previous installments of the series. The audiovisual setting manages to build the atmosphere of Sanctuary very well, and the gameplay is also a lot of fun. The most important factor, however, is the online aspect, which the series has never emphasized so much. The following collection of tips should help you optimize your gameplay at the very beginning of the adventure and prepare you to compete and cooperate with others on equal footing.
1. Enable auto-pickup
This is literally the most basic piece of advice, and it should be done as soon as you start the game for the first time. You will collect tons of loot and most of the items will be useless as far as dressing or arming characters is concerned.
However, all these items can be used at the blacksmith to create new materials that will be useful for improving our own gear. This means that even the flimsiest pair of gloves can have some utility, and the automatic pickup means that you don't have to lift every single piece of loot from the ground manually. All you have to do is run by it and the character will take everything to the inventory automatically. This comes in extremely handy.
2. Remember about the first kill of the day reward
After the auto-pickup, this is the second most basic piece of advice concerning Diablo Immortal, and it indeed is worth to keep in mind daily. All we have to do is kill a single opponent, and we will receive a reward that's very valuable compared to the effort it takes. These can be legendary items, common gems, as well as legendary ones.
Diablo Immortal is a mobile game, so even if we don't have the time for a longer session, spending a few minutes just to reap a prize for killing a monster and calling it a day seems worth it. It certainly is if you want to play regularly anyway.
3. Lieutenant Fizriah is your best friend
It's hard to have much of a choice when it comes to getting useful items if you don't want to pay real money. Residing in the northeastern part of Westmarch, Lieutenant Fizriah sells his merchandise for hilts, which are always plentiful, so you can make up for the handicap at least in this way.
You will find, among others, rare crests with a daily limit for purchase and the Aspirant's keys. Once a week, we will receive a random legendary item and three simple talismans. He even sells a legendary crest, but only once a month.
In addition, every few hours, he also provides a special offer with a limited purchase window, which also helps you get the materials needed to develop your character. You should visit him every day.
4. Be modest in collecting rewards for codex activities
The codex activities are the main source of earning Battle Points, which you can use to reach new Battle Pass levels. However, it's a big mistake to collect them right away, and I'll explain why.
After reaching level 30, the game presents the first wall in front of us: to continue the main storyline, we need to reach level 35. This will be happening until the very end of the story, and the Battle Pass experience points come to the rescue here!
The amount of experience we get for reaching a new level in the Pass depends on our current character level, so the higher our level is, the more XP we get. In that case, it's worth holding onto the Battle Points and give yourself an experience boost at a critical moment.
5. The Namari temple is like a second home
There will be situations when we don't get any bonus Battle Points, have all the tasks completed and don't know where to get a decent dose of XP and the points from. If you've reached Level 40 and unlocked the Namari Temple, then you know what to do.
It's a very small dungeon that can be quickly completed in a team. In addition, you get a lot of experience for them, as well as twenty Battle Points, which is the highest reward for the underground in the codex. It doesn't even take ten minutes to complete, so regular visits here can bring many benefits.
6. Unlock the Helliquary ASAP
The Helliquary is one of the character development systems. To upgrade it, you need a special resource called scoria. The problem is that until we unlock said Helliquary... we have no way of obtaining the said material.
Once we get this artifact, we will be able to fight a raid boss in a group, and if we do it together, we will get additional hellfire scoria. The Helliquary itself buffs our stats and gives bonuses that aid us in the Challenges Rifts. If you're into ranked play, this is really useful.
7. Give legendary items a second life
During the game, we acquire legendary items from the early stages. So, their statistics are not very strong and they need to be replaced eventually. However, this doesn't mean that they become redundant junk that will be converted into materials at the blacksmith. On the contrary – doing so would be a huge mistake.
A certain Zamina resides in the south of Westmarch. Its job is to carry essences from legendary items. We will lose the item in this process, but we will be able to transfer its power to another legendary one and swap the redundant bonus for the one we actually want. This means we do not really lose anything, even when a very useful item turns out to be too weak in theory, and we have to replace it with another one with better stats.
8. Start upgrading your inventory early
As mentioned earlier, we acquire a large amount of unnecessary equipment from the very beginning, which we can transform into materials. Don't hold onto these items – upgrade your gear immediately. The reason for this is that when equipping better gear, the game itself asks if we want to transfer the upgrade level and gems from the old one.
It's completely free and makes upgrading the character viable in the early stages of the game– you don't need to hoard materials in order to spend them on improving only the best of your weapons.
9. Team up (or join trusted warbands)!
The warbands are mini-clans; organized groups of up to eight-players. They can be ranked in the raid leaderboards and fight for the highest honors of the game. You can only gain by joining one of them. What exactly?
For defeating a boss in a raid, you get more rewards and passively get a 5% boost of probability of getting items from slayed beasts. However, the best thing about being part of a band is a shared quarter in the camp. There, players can choose which items to equip, making the entire squad stronger. In addition, when playing together, you can get a special trove – if you open it in the stash in the camp, it gets a legendary or set item inside it.
10. Spend your money wisely (if you really have to)
Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play game with optional payments to help you expand the character. Some of you will certainly want to buy some trinkets in the shop. Is it viable without spending a fortune? The answer is yes, because in Immortal, only the people who spend either very little or a lot will benefit from micropayments.
Diablo Immortal works the same way as many other games that have a battle pass, where the paid version gives you additional bonuses. When you purchase the "Enhanced Battle Pass" you will receive additional scoria, legendary gems and legendary rift crests.
In addition, when we go to dungeons for the first time, a special trove will appear in the store. The first three are relatively cheap – two cost $1 and the third a few dollars more. With this amount, we will receive a decent amount of resources for starters. The fourth box is a matter of around 5 bucks, but it is also worth considering.
There's also a monthly subscription which costs some 10 dollars. In addition to bonuses such as bigger equipment and mobile access to the market, we receive new rewards for logging in daily. These include Legendary and Rare Crests as well as Common and Legendary Gems. These bonuses are worth the price, but remember that if you don't log in at all on a given day, the items from that period will be lost.
Diablo Immortal is a nice mobile game that is also fun on computers. We only get to know its full potential when we play with friends or in another organized group, because the game promotes such gameplay mode the most. The above tips will help you get started with the game or show you what else you can do to improve your path to level 60.
