Recommended builds in Mordhau Mordhau guide, tips
Last update: 22 May 2019
In Mordhau you get a dozen of ready-made characters at your disposal. They're great for testing most types of weapons, but the best results you will achieve after creating your own warrior. To do this, you need to plan a new char build - on this page you will find a few of our suggestions. They will help you choose the best build for your style of play. Here you will find the best variations for a start - archer build, Zweihender warrior build, support build (to help your allies) and many others.
In green frames under every build you will find the most important information - the recommended weapon, the type of armor and perks - along with the point cost. Under the frame you will find a brief description of the build.
Universal build - best to start the game
WEAPON:
- Billhook (5 points)
ARMOR:
- Head: 2 (medium armor)
- Torso: 2 (medium armor)
- Legs: 2 (medium armor)
Perks:
- Bloodlust (5 points)
This build is a great option for novice players. The range of the Billhook weapon allows you to keep enemies at a distance, and the Bloodlust perk provides health recovery after each killed enemy. Full average armor is a trade-off between defense and mobility - making sure you don't die from a single hit, but you can move around the battlefield effectively too.
Archer
WEAPON:
- Bow (11 points)
- Arming Sword (2 points)
ARMOR:
- Head: 0 (without reservation)
- Torso: 1 (light armor)
- Legs: 0 (without armor)
Perks:
- Huntsman (2 points)
The Archer build is recommended for players who prefer ranged combat and love to use bows. Longbow is the best ranged weapon - it provides great damage and has a fast attack rate. The high weapon cost limits the choice of armor, but the Archer must stand in the back - light armor on the torso gives a bit of protection, but above all, it is necessary to avoid melee combat at all cost. When it comes to a direct melee duel it's worth using the Arming Sword weapon. In turn, Huntsman perk makes your arrow shots to cause more damage to the enemies who wear quivers - this way you may become a real killer of enemy archers.
Zweihender build
WEAPON:
- Zweihander (10 points)
ARMOR:
- Head: 2 (medium armor)
- Torso: 3 (heavy armor)
- Legs: 0 (without armor)
Perks:
- Friendly (1 point)
Zweihender build is for players who want to cause great amounts of damage. Zweihender is a long two-handed sword, which (if you hit the opponent in the back) allows you to instantly kill an enemy with a single blow. It is also common to kill two enemies with one blow. Powerful weapons have a price, so the rest of the points is worth spending on a lesser armor, as well as a cheap perk like Friendly, which will reduce the damage done to the allies - in the chaos of the battle you may hit your teammates by a mistake.
Support
WEAPON:
- Toolbox (8 points)
- Medic Bag (2 points)
- Arming Sword (2 points)
ARMOR:
- Head: 1 (light armor)
- Torso: 1 (light armor)
- Legs: 1 (light armor)
Perks:
- Smith (1 point)
Support is an offer for players who want to limit their participation in battles. The main tool of this build is the Toolbox, which allows you to build different barricades - this way you may block paths to important places and raise the defense of key points (and to speed up the crafting process it's worth taking the Smith perk). In addition, mini-ballista is very useful which can cause a lot of damage. Another useful item that can be thrown to the ground is Medic Bag which allows your allies to regenerate health. The remaining points should be allocated to the main weapon, which may give you some chances in direct battle.
