Garden of the Gods God of War 2 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
There's a Phoenix Feather in the room with Gods' statues - it's behind Athena, so you have to smash the likable goddess to pieces. Go further by destroying the cracked wall to the left.
Grab the ledge and go to the right. When you go past the second wall, you can drop down (R1) to get a Gorgon Eye and some experience. Reach the save point and go further, then jump down. In this room you have to kill three sirens by "sacrificing" them to the flamethrowers. How to do that? Possibly the best way is to use Head of Euryale to freeze a siren in the flames' range and wait for them to become active again. Each defeated siren drops some blue orbs so you shouldn't run out.
Swim through the blood-filled canal (watch out for the spikes). When you surface on the other side, face the camera and walk towards it a few steps to find two experience chests.
There's a complicated riddle in the next room. First, get on the ceiling by climbing one of the walls, and destroy all the stalactites. Jump back down and pull the lever at the back of a frozen bird. Grab the mirror that appeared and place it so that it reflects the sunbeam in the lower-right corner of the room (see screenshot below). It will point a spot on the rotating mechanism below. Now use the three turnstiles to the right in order to position the golden shield in the spot that's lit by the sunbeam. This way you've unfrozen the owl and can rotate it by using another turnstile. In order to leave this room, just make it face the main gate and use it to unfreeze it. If you take some time to unblock all other surrounding rooms, you'll also get a Gorgon Eye and a Phoenix Feather.
In the next room you'll see some Imp nests. In order to destroy them, climb the wall at the back of the screen and get on the ceiling. Kill all the remaining monsters and then use the turnstile on the floor. Grab the handle with you blade (R1) and let it lift you up.
A difficult battle awaits you here. You'll be facing three three-headed dogs, which also spawn smaller versions of themselves from time to time. It's a good idea to use Chronos Rage and Atlas Quake here. After a while some heavily-armed monsters will enter the arena, which also won't make your life any easier. First take care of all the dogs, though. Remember to use fatalities as often as it is possible.
After the battle use the ladder to get near the save point. Go to the right to get a Gorgon Eye and a decent number of red orbs (there are two chests in the back side of the platform you're currently standing on, and two more are hidden below, just jump down to get them). Go through the gate near the save point and jump down.
