Exploring the map | Helpful hints Ghost Recon AW Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
First of all, you should know that in most cases there are a lot of different paths leading to your destination. Some of them have been described in the walkthrough, although I've tried to pick the safest ones. As a result, you will have to spend some more time on the map, however it will allow you to pick a safest possible route. You should also know that some of the enemy soldiers may appear in different areas of the map. This happens when you try to reload the whole level. Like I've said before, you must be careful all the time, because the terrorists may be hiding in previously checked areas.
1. Use the tactical view feature! The tactical map is one of the most useful tools that you will be able to use during the course of the game. The most important feature of the map is that it monitors your surrounding in real time! As a result, you will be able to spot moving units. It will allow you to prevent them from surprising any of your team members. You must remember the tactical view is not able to show locations of these opponents that are standing inside buildings. Thankfully, most of them are very easy to spot. Additionally, you will be able to use the drone in some of missions. You mustn't forget about it. The drone will allow you to locate enemy units more efficiently, although you have to remember that sometimes it can skip some of the enemy soldiers.
2. Remember that the rest of the team can help you out during most of the fights. I should tell you that your teammates aren't too clever, mostly because the AI has a lot of annoying flaws. Sometimes your colleagues decide to enter a territory that's occupied by massive enemy forces. You can't allow any of these situations to happen. One of the most important things is to NOT send them to previously unexplored areas. As I've said before, you should be using the tactical view in order to scan the whole sector. Thanks to that, you'll know where it's safe. You should also take a close look at where your teammates are standing. Make sure that they're using walls or other large objects for cover.
3. Attack the terrorists from many different sides. You should know that you will have an opportunity to give specific orders to each member of the squad. As a result, it would be wise to divide your team. Two smaller squads will be able to attack enemy forces from different sides. You should be using these types of moves while attacking larger groups of enemy soldiers. Thanks to that, you'll be able to take care of them faster than usual.
