Zool is an example of a full-blooded platformer, created by Gremlin Graphics in cooperation with the manufacturer of Chupa Chups lollipops. The main task of the player who plays the role of the title character (also called Nine from dimension N) is to free the unidentified world from the yoke of disgusting creatures.
The game was divided into six graphically diversified lands and the latter into three successive levels. All in all, this gives us eighteen very extensive boards in which we exterminate the enemies that emerge from all over the world and collect sweets. Tasty delicacies are necessary to complete a given stage - the number of them is indicated by the counter in the lower left corner of the screen. Our hero can jump, shoot and stick to walls. In addition, Zool has the ability to rotate around its axis, which allows it to destroy all enemies in the air. During the game we will also encounter numerous bonuses, the most interesting of which is the possibility of creating a clone, repeating the hero's movements with a short delay.
The visual setting does not raise any objections: the graphics are very colorful, the worlds are diverse and the animation of characters and enemies is almost flawless. The sound is also on a high level, although it is annoying to choose between effects and music (you cannot play two things at once). When it comes to the soundtrack, the player can choose from four tracks in the menu, depending on their preferences. Interestingly, one of them (exactly "Rock") has already been heard on the occasion of Lotus: The Ultimate Challenge.
