An expansion for Zoo Tycoon 2, developed by the creators of the core game, Blue Fang Games. The expansion allows you to feature some of the rarest endangered species, such as Komodo dragons, koala bears, orangutans, and Galapagos tortoises, in your zoo. To ensure their survival, you have to make sure they live in the conditions that resemble their natural habitat as closely as possible.

Zoo Tycoon 2: Endangered Species for PC is an official expansion for the 2004 economic strategy game Zoo Tycoon 2, in which you manage your own zoo. The expansion, as the title suggests, allows you to feature over twelve rarest endangered species in your zoo, such as koala bears, orangutans, gray wolves, Komodo dragons, and giant Galapagos tortoises.

Mechanics

Taking care of the new animals (making sure they live in the conditions that resemble their natural habitat as closely as possible) is just one part of the job. You also have to earn good money by managing your business. In order for your visitors to get a good look at the animals, you have to build various observation points or even bridges located above cages. There is also an option to give your visitors a ride, during which they can observe animal behavior up close, which positively affects your income (satisfied visitors come in more often and pay you more money). It helps you to invest in building an educational center, in which the visitors can learn more about endangered species. Apart from that, the expansion features new tasks to complete in two modes, Campaign and Freedom.
