Zombie Highway 2, released on AND and iOS, is an arcade game offering a fresh approach to the endless runner genre. The game uses a free-to-play model with microtransactions and was developed by Auxbrain, the same studio that developed the first part of the series.
Mechanics
In Zombie Highway 2, we drive a car on a highway and move through the areas captured by the living corpses. Our task is to drive as far as possible, which requires avoiding collisions and knocking down the undead who can attach themselves to the car or driving over them. The game doesn't offer an extensive storyline - we don't know the biography of the driver or the details of the outbreak of a zombie epidemic.
Zombie Highway 2 is an endless runner. This means that the titular highway never ends and its subsequent sections are generated randomly. This means that winning is impossible and the whole game boils down to trying to cover the longest possible distance and achieve the highest score. We can compare our achievements with other players through online rankings.
Zombie Highway 2 uses a very simple control system. Tilting the device causes the steering wheel to turn, and enemies are attacked by touching their silhouette on the screen. The game offers 6 cars, each with different performance. All of them can be upgraded and equipped with 18 weapons. There are 11 types of zombies. We can also complete 67 dynamically assigned missions which will significantly increase our final score.
