Spin-off version of the popular mobile racing series Asphalt, which is a departure from the previous formula of the game. The title combines elements of arcade races with elements of the endless runner genre, in which our vehicle moves spontaneously and the role of the player is limited to changing lanes to avoid obstacles and perform spectacular cascading evolutions.

Asphalt Overdrive, released on PC, AND, etc., is a spin-off of the popular mobile racing series, created by the French company Gameloft. The title is a departure from the classic formula of the series, offering a combination of spectacular arcade races with the popular genre of so-called endless runners.

Mechanics

In Asphalt Overdrive, our vehicle moves forward by itself, and the role of the player is limited to changing lanes and performing spectacular evolutions at the right moment. Although the Asphalt Overdrive offers fun in a typically casual style, a large number of 30 licensed cars, including iconic models such as the Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari Testarossa, deserve attention. We can also install simple modifications improving the performance of our cars.

Game modes

Asphalt Overdrive offers seven different types of missions, in which our goal is to avoid obstacles, perform evolution, escape from the police, as well as compete with one of the five bosses. In each mode, several elements are scored and the game assesses our skills, giving players one to three stars. Of course, it is possible to repeat individual races several times. Although Asphalt Overdrive doesn't allow classic multiplayer competition, thanks to extensive social options we can join gangs and take part in various online events, as well as compete with friends from Facebook.

Technical aspects

The graphics in Asphalt Overdrive are at a high level, which is one of the hallmarks of the Asphalt series. The game is set in the '80s version of California, which gives the game a retro atmosphere. The title is distributed in a free-to-play model, and the number of races that can be played during a single playthrough is limited by the energy system.
