Your Only Move Is HUSTLE is a unique combination of a fighting game, turn-based strategy and even puzzle games. It was developed by an independent developer, Ivy Sly.

Mechanics

The gameplay of Your Only Move Is HUSTLE is shown from the side. The players engage in fierce duels on backgroundless arenas, controlling one of the available characters with different fighting styles, attacks and skills. That's where all similarities to a typical fighting game end.

The game is turn-based. During our turn we receive full control over our character, planning out our next moves, selecting attacks and choosing their direction. The game shows us a prediction of how our opponent will behave after our move, letting us choose our next attacks more effectively and chain them into spectacular, deadly combos.

To succeed, we must plan out our moves in advance, like if we're playing chess. This is the only way we can finish off an enemy quickly, or escape their combo and regain initiative.

When one of the fighters runs out of health, we can rewatch the entire duel in real time and save its replay.

Game modes

Your Only Move Is HUSTLE supports both singleplayer and multiplayer. In the latter case, we have only 30 seconds to plan out our next move.

Technical aspects

The visuals of Your Only Move Is HUSTLE are extremely minimalist. The characters and effects have been made with use of pixel art. The animations, however, are very detailed.
