Developed by Darkflow Software in cooperation with Gaijin Entertainment, Xenos vs. Marines is an online FPS game that takes players on a journey to a distant future, in which the human civilization has reached the level of development allowing for the colonization of remote planets. The main protagonists of the game are the titular Space Marines, tasked with preparing planets for the arrival of new settlers.
Developed by Darkflow Software in cooperation with Gaijin Entertainment – Xenos vs Marines is an online FPS game. The studios have actually worked together before – on the well-received game called Enlisted, a title that allowed players to participate in the biggest battles of the World War II. Xenos vs Marines is now available on PC.
Plot
Unlike its predecessor set in the historical reality, Xenos vs Marines takes players on a journey to a distant future, in which the human civilization has reached the level of development allowing for the colonization of remote planets. The inhabitable globes, however, are not empty – they are inhabited by aggressive beings. The protagonists of the game are the titular Space Marines, tasked with preparing the planets for the arrival of new settlers.
Mechanics
Obviously, players assume the role of the aforementioned Marines and have to face the Aliens in countless battles. As one might easily guess, Xenos vs Marines delivers a wide variety of futuristic technologies, which include weaponry, armors, and other useful pieces of gear. A key to success lies in a strict cooperation between the players and the good coordination of the actions performed by the members of one’s team. Players should not forget that the Aliens are not the only threat waiting for them – in the game, one has to face many dangers resulting from numerous anomalies encountered on the surfaces of the newly discovered planets. The gameplay mechanics are based on those known from the aforementioned Enlisted – in spite of the convention the developers decided to follow, the game puts a strong emphasis on representing the reality surrounding the Marines on a battlefield.
Technical aspects
The PC release of Xenos vs Marines features high-quality visuals. One is bound to appreciate the level of detail of character models, enemy animations, and the beautiful surroundings, especially with its rich vegetation.
