X-Plane 12

X-Plane 12 is the next installment of the popular realistic flight simulator series. The game was developed by Laminar Research studio, the team responsible for all previous installments.

Game mechanics

X-Plane 12 allows you to sit at the helm of nineteen civilian and military aircraft: from Sikorsky S-76 or Robinson R22 Beta II helicopters, through the Grumman F-14 Tomcat supersonic fighter, Cessna 172SP training and training aircraft to huge passenger aircraft like Boeing 737 and Airbus A330-300. Each plane has been meticulously recreated, with all on-board systems working, and its in-flight behavior is governed by a powerful physics engine. We can land these machines at more than seventeen thousand faithfully reproduced airports from all over the world.

Compared to the eleventh installment of the series, X-Plane 12 offers improved simulation quality and much more faithfully recreated environments and weather conditions - from advanced aircraft-water interactions, to effects accompanying the seasons (including the build-up of snow on 3D tree models) to reliably reproduced clouds, thermal chimneys and turbulence caused by the close flyby of another aircraft.

Game modes

X-Plane 12 allows you to play solo or in multiplayer mode.

Technical aspects

The game offers greatly improved graphics. Both planes and locations have been improved in detail, and more advanced effects increase the realism of the visuals. As usual, a very important part of the game are the included editors - thanks to the Plane Maker module, we can design our own aircraft and test its construction by exposing it to the game's physical engine. In turn, using WorldEditor (WED), we will design our own airports (or simply visually refine those present in the game) or entire locations - including such details as air traffic rules - to then share with the community.

What is important, X-Plane 12 is compatible with all add-ons for X-Plane 11, so when switching to a new installment of the series, we can continue using the purchased DLCs.
