Wurm Unlimited for PC is a sandbox RPG, developed by Code Club. Essentially, it’s a standalone version of a MMORPG Wurm Online. Both games share technology, mechanisms of the gameplay, and content. The difference is that Wurm Unlimited allows singleplayer gameplay, and the creation of private servers for multiplayer gaming, and offers the ability to configure many elements of the virtual world.
Mechanics
Wurm Unlimited for PC doesn’t have any leading plotline. It’s a true-born sandbox that throws us to a fantasy universe, leaving us the decision as to what do next and what line of work should we pick up.
The game world has an open structure, and it’s fully dynamic. As the time passes, seasons change, forests and other plants grow, while animals get older and die. The player’s freedom is practically unlimited. They can change the area around them through cutting forests, or digging holes in the ground. The complex crafting system allows resource gathering and constructing items, buildings, or even whole cities.
The combat takes place in real time, and it’s slightly arcade in nature. The game not only allows fighting small groups of enemies, but also conducting wars against other factions, if we decided to enable PvP option while creating the server. The game world is inhabited by heaps of various monsters, controlled by the AI.
The game flaunts the number of the available activities. Among others, we can catch and breed animals, engage in religious rituals in honour of one of the four gods, become a priest, or even attempt to become a god yourself. Wurm Unlimited allows bestriding various animals, from horses, through bears, up to dragons. If this is your calling, you can become a farmer, cook dishes, or build a ship and sail in search of adventure.
