A 4X strategy game set in a fantasy universe and produced by the Polish studio Wastelands Interactive. The production was inspired by the cult game Master of Magic from 1994, and the authors designed it as its spiritual successor. The game takes place in a multi-dimensional, procedurally generated universe, where the fierce struggle for dominance requires the use of magic and sword.

Worlds of Magic is a game developed by Wastelands Interactive, a Polish studio specializing in strategy games (World War 2: Time of Wrath, Strategic War in Europe). A cult game by Microprose, Master of Magic, was a direct inspiration tothe developers.

The action of Worlds of Magic takes place in a fantasy universe in which a battle for dominance is fought with sword and magic. Composed of many dimensions (so-called “planes”), the game world is randomly generated, thus ensuring that every playthrough is unique.

As befits a 4X strategy game, the gameplay concentrates on four aspects: exploration, expansion, exploitation and extermination. The player has to develop production, economy, and the technology in order to recruit units and conquer new territories while protecting those already claimed. What’s important, the victory can be achieved in many ways - not only through military operations, but also by means of economic or political domination.

The developers of Worlds of Magic did not forget about the typical fantasy elements, such as presence of fantasy races (dwarves, elves, undead and the like) or possibility of casting spells from 12 magic schools. The game mechanics are based on the D20 system which is well-known to all fans of traditional RPGs.
