Winter Olympics is a sports game that has been developed by U.S. Gold specifically for the Lillehammer Winter Olympics. The player will play the role of one of the players, whose task will be to win as many medals in the whole competition.

The programme offers fourteen competitions, divided into several disciplines (skating, tobogganing, Nordic and alpine skiing), which can be played alone or in the company of friends (up to four people). A very important feature of the game is the variety of competitions, e.g. jumpers can compete on K-90 and K-120 facilities, and skaters can duel in several different races. In addition to fighting in all competitions, the player can also take part in the truncated version of the Olympics, which offers a small proportion of the available disciplines. In the game there is also a training option, which allows you to improve your skills without hindrance. At the first contact with the program, this is where we should start, because in a traditional tournament we will certainly not be able to cope.

Despite the high level of competition, Winter Olympics is not a particularly successful product, especially when compared to slightly older Accolade products. Most problems are caused by control, especially the need to hit the cursor keys in order to speed up the competitors (only in alpine competitions it is not necessary to do so). In addition, the graphic design leaves a lot to be desired. Despite the use of original symbolism from the games and digitalized photos, the whole looks very poor, and certainly not for a product from 1994.
