A free-to-play MMO game by the South-Korean company Webzen, specialized in MMORPG productions. You create your own golf player, equip them with clothes, accessories and gear of your preference, and play on one of the nine golf courses, each of them featuring different conditions. Winning Putt: Golf Online is a free-to-play MMO game dedicated to golf. The production is available on PC and WEBZENONNET, a branch of the South Korean company Webzen, known mainly for its numerous free MMORPGs (e.g. Archlord II and the MU Online cycle), is responsible for its creation. The worldwide publisher of Winning Putt is Bandai Namco Entertainment.

Mechanics

Winning Putt: Golf Online combines the features of a golf simulator with a character progression system typical of MMORPG productions. When we start playing, we create an avatar and equip him/her with clothes, accessories and equipment that meet our preferences. Thus prepared, we can proceed to the subsequent golf matches, in which our protege gains experience with each won round (and even each successful stroke), allowing them to level up. As we reach a new level, we train our golfer and develop their skills such as accuracy and impact strength. We can also adjust the character's equipment so that it stands out not only visually, but also provides us with a variety of bonuses.

However, it should be stressed that Winning Putt has no ambition to be a super-realistic golf simulator. Sports competitions can take place in nine different locations, ranging from very classic golf courses in tropical resorts to science fiction areas located on the alien planet Starglen. Each of the locations is characterized by its own style and specific conditions: from the very diversity of the terrain, through different weather (e.g. very strong winds), to, for example, extremely steep slopes. Not without significance is the fact that in addition to the typical "arsenal" of a golfer, we can use a ton of various bonuses and power-ups, which, providing us with an advantage over our opponents, additionally deprive the game of realism.

Game modes

In Winning Putt we can train alone, but as befits an MMO, the production focuses mainly on competing with other players, progressing our character and climbing the world rankings. All the fun can take place in several different single and tournament modes, such as Betting Mode, Four Player Rounds and Team Rounds. The game also offers if the opportunity to join a guild and participate in endless team battles.

Technical aspects

Winning Putt: Golf Online stands out from other free golf simulators in terms of lighting quality, based on one of the most powerful graphic engines, the CryEngine. In addition to the highly refined, detailed locations and realistic physics and player animations, our golf tournaments can also be played in a variety of weather conditions, both by day and night.
