Westworld Awakening is a VR adventure game with elements of action and sneaking from the Survios studio. It's licensed for the popular Westworld series. The player takes on the role of Kate (host), who tries to find her in the events known from the second season of the series.
Westworld Awakening is an action adventure game with stealth elements developed for VR equipment (supports Oculus Rift and HTC VIVE) by Survios, veterans in the field of VR games. The action of the game takes place during the events of the 2nd season of the Westworld series and tells the story of one of the hosts - Kate. Our heroine gains self-awareness and tries to survive in the troubled laboratories and offices of Delos corporation.
Plot
The creators of Westworld Awakening have chosen the 2nd season of Westworld as the timeframe of their game. The series tells the story of an amusement park run by Delos Inc., where the main attraction are the hosts - technologically advanced androids imitating human behavior and appearance, resembling people to such an extent that they are indistinguishable. Some hosts gained self-awareness and rebel against the corporation treating them as things.
The player takes on the role of a host named Kate, who is the victim of Hank, a serial killer. Kate, guided by the script that was prepared for her, relives her brutal death time after time, until one day she wakes up in Delos laboratories, where the fight is taking place. Wanting to survive and escape from Hank, Kate is forced to hide, solve puzzles and listen to the voices coming from her head.
Mechanics
Westworld Awakening is a combination of adventure, action and stealth games. Our character escapes a serial killer and tries to get out of the deadly trap of Delos' laboratories and offices, where hosts are being set up to fight the private army of the corporation.
Kate can't fight, which leads to exploration elements being interrupted by hiding from enemies and running away from them.
An important element of the gameplay is solving puzzles, we use a host's control tablet known from the series.
