Warcraft II: The Dark Saga is a console port of Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness. Besides the content found in the original game, it also offers missions from the expansion called Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal. Warcraft II: The Dark Saga, released on PS1 in 1997, also introduces a number of improvements to the gameplay which appeared later in Battle.net Edition for PC.
Plot
Warcraft II: The Dark Saga, released on PS1, continues the story of a bloody war between humans and orcs over the fantastical land called Azeroth. Six years after the great victory of the human race, the Horde mobilizes its forces and once again carries out an attack on the territory belonging to the Alliance.
Mechanics
Warcraft II: The Dark Saga is a real-time strategy in which the player's tasks include collecting raw materials, expanding their base, creating units and finally the fighting against enemy forces. The production offers several story campaigns, allowing players to play as both sides of the conflict - as the Alliance and the Horde.
Besides adjusting the controls to a gamepad, introduced a number of patches that were originally absent in the PC version. Among them, it is worth mentioning the possibility of automatic development of buildings and training units selected by the player. In addition, the production adds a new mode, allowing you to start playing on a random map in no time. These improvements appeared on the PC with the release of the extended Warcraft II edition calledBattle.net Edition.
