War Mechanic PC

War Mechanic is a simulation game in which we manage our own military base during the endless Second World War. The production was developed by Chronospace, a Polish development studio whose portfolio includes two projects developed in cooperation with the Institute of National Remembrance - The Cipher Game and Aviators.

The plot of

War Mechanic takes us to a dieselpunk universe and spreads before us an alternative vision of history in which World War II never ended. During the gameplay we are given a military base located at the back of the front, and our task is to carry out the orders coming "from the front" and wage a constant battle for survival.

Gameplay

In War Mechanic we view the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). In the course of the game, all issues related to the functioning of the military base rest on our shoulders. As the title obliges, among our duties the leading one is the necessity to service vehicles coming to us from the battlefield, as well as to prepare them to go to the front again. Although at first we take care of the cars, tanks and planes put into our hands by ourselves, over time we gain the ability to construct robots and automate work in the workshop with their help.

The latter requires a considerable amount of raw materials, which we collect by exploring the vast territory surrounding our base. We travel across the island at our disposal on foot or behind the wheel of a vehicle, which we can upgrade as we progress. While plundering abandoned buildings and derelict wrecks, we use a special tool called a blaster, with the help of which we acquire resources for expanding our base and upgrading the entire related infrastructure. Other sources of resources are the black market and gambling, but they require you to show cunning and cunningness.

It doesn't stop there, as the game also allows us to conquer other bases, thanks to which our "processing capacity" grows significantly over time. At the same time, do not forget that our command center r?also can fall victim to attack. When it finds itself on the target of enemy forces, there is nothing left for us to do but to start defending it, using, among other things, anti-aircraft guns.
