VOIN Description
VOIN is an action RPG game, which is very similar to the classic Heretic series. The game was developed by an independent developer - Nikita Sozidar - and although it is his first major project, he previously worked on seven other, smaller and ultimately unfinished titles.
Plot
The action of VOIN is set in a gloomy fantasy world. During the game, we take on the role of a servant born from the elements, brought to life by a powerful mage. His task is to defeat a terrible plague that has consumed the entire land, destroying all life.
Mechanics
In VOIN we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The pillar of the game are expeditions to locations infested with plague, during which we achieve the goals set before us and eliminate hordes of opponents. Adventure leads us through mighty fortresses, mountainous terrains, or river valleys.
We encounter creatures created by the plague (led by powerful bosses), which we kill using melee weapons and various combat skills. On the battlefield, we must be in constant motion, avoiding attacks, launching deadly counterattacks, and using spectacular and bloody combos. As we progress, we develop our character and gather new equipment, which allows us to face increasingly greater challenges over time.
Between the expeditions, we go to the Amarict fortress, which is our base. We can advance to the next levels here and unlock new skills, as well as clean the acquired equipment to be able to use it in battle.
Technical aspects
VOIN uses the Unreal Engine. The graphic design of this game is maintained in an original style that combines modern solutions (such as dynamic lighting) with a pixel-filled aesthetic straight from the 1990s.
