Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden

Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden is the second installment in a series of games with elements of card games and RPGs, launched in October 2021. As in the case of the original, the creative director of this project was the famous Yoko Taro (creator of the Drakengard and NieR series), and it was published by Square Enix.

Plot

Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden tells a story unrelated to the plot of the first part of the series. The production takes us on a journey to a fantastic world, to be precise - to a vast archipelago. Maidens protected the islands from all sorts of dangers, and when their protection fell short, a deadly danger hung over the inhabitants of those pieces of land. Fortunately, not everything is lost yet, because there is a hero who sets out to sea to save the islanders. He is accompanied by Laty - a girl who did not manage to become one of the maidens.

Game mechanics

Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden uses the solutions developed for the first installment of the series. We travel through a vast world, which map is made up of cards waiting to be discovered. On our way we often have to fight with the opponents. Skirmishes take place in turn-based mode and during them we play cards corresponding to the attacks and abilities of particular characters.

Technical aspects

Graphics and sound of Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden are kept in the style known from the first part of the series. Kimihiko Fujisaka was once again responsible for the character designs, while Keiichi Okabe composed the soundtrack.
