Vindictus: Defying Fate Description
Vindictus: Defying Fate is an action RPG set in a dark fantasy universe inspired by Celtic mythology. The game was developed by the South Korean company Nexon.
Contrary to what the title may suggest, the game in question is not a sequel or a refreshed version of the Vindictus project released in 2010. Both games share the brand and some elements of the universe, however they constitute completely separate entities.
Mechanics
In Vindictus: Defying Fate we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). We start the game by choosing characters that vary in terms of appearance, preferred weapons, and fighting style and speed. After that we throw ourselves into the whirl of adventures leading us through a series of diverse locations - from frosty mountain peaks, through gloomy undergrounds, to picturesque valleys.
While traversing the game world, we complete the quests assigned to us and face opponents. Among the adversaries, monsters and other creatures from Celtic mythology are in the spotlight. We eliminate enemies, making use of melee weapons and various combat skills. The clashes are dynamic and we must be in constant motion, dodging and blocking attacks, and skillfully juggling attacks. The juggles are divided into strong (slower) and normal (weaker, but faster) attacks. Additionally, they can be combined into spectacular combinations. We can kill weakened opponents by executing spectacular finishers.
As we progress, we accumulate better equipment and also develop our protagonists, which allows us to face increasingly greater challenges. Along the way we also unlock various cosmetic additions.
Game modes
Vindictus: Defying Fate offers both a single-player mode and a multiplayer mode.
Technical aspects
Vindictus: Defying Fate runs on the Unreal Engine.
