A local four-person multiplayer twin stick shooter, in which the action is seen from an isometric perspective. The game was created thanks to the efforts of the French independent studio Rundisc and is his first project.

Varion is an intensive science-fiction shooter, prepared for the local four-person multiplayer mode. The game focuses on ranged combat (although players can also fight with melee weapons). The production was developed by the French independent studio Rundisc and is the developer's debut project.

Mechanics

Varion is a multiplayer twin-stick shooter. The action is presented from an isometric perspective - we control our robot and try to destroy other players' machines. The clashes take place in small, randomly generated arenas, where you can find traps (mines, portals, gas tanks, and even... charging minotaurs), as well as various reinforcements and additional equipment (bombs, blades). The gameplay is dynamic and forces the participants to be on the move at all times.

Varion offers both ranged and melee combat, but the emphasis has been put on firearms. Importantly, the bullets we shoot can bounce off the walls, allowing us to come up with complex tactics to defeat enemies. We also can avoid enemy fire using the dash.

Game modes

In Varion, >we can play alone (we fight against boots in Challenge mode - it also allows you to have fun in cooperation), but the game clearly puts emphasize on the local multiplayer mode.

Technical aspects

Varion has quite simple 3D graphics, which don't differ from the standards typical for independent games. The advantage of this approach to graphics is that it is legible - we can clearly see what is happening on the screen at a given moment and it is easy for us to focus on what is important.
