Hybrid RPG action and tower defense game, in which we play one of the title guards and repel subsequent attacks of the infernal army. Hell Warders not only allows you to play alone, but also multiplayer struggle in the company of up to three players.
Hell Warders is a hybrid of action RPG and tower defense game. The title was developed by the independent developer Anti Gravity Game Studios.
Story
Hell Warders takes us to a fantasy land plagued by constant raids from the forces of darkness. So far, the eponymous Warders have managed to repel subsequent attacks. One night, a real invasion of hellish hordes began, and few would bet that the heroes will be able to deal with the threat this time. However, the brave warders must try.
Mechanics
In Hell Warders we observe the action from third-person perspective. During the game, we play as one of the three title Warders - a knight, a gunner equipped with a cannon and a specialist in explosives are at our disposal. The game is divided into missions, during which we find various maps and repel the consecutive attacks of hellspawn, taking an active part in the battles. The culmination of each of them is a duel with an impressive boss.
Our proteges are not helpless, as they are accompanied by an army of archers, knights, mages, and catapults. Before a battle begins, we can decide to deploy them and, as we progress, we increase their combat potential. Successive victories also bring improvements for the protagonist - as he progresses to next levels of experience, he gains access to increasingly powerful skills, perks and artifacts.
Game modes
Hell Warders enables us to play solo and in a co-op mode for up to four people.
Technical aspects
Hell Warders features three-dimensional visuals of average quality. However, the original opponent designs deserve attention, with terrifying bosses at the forefront.

[1:00] Hell Warders trailer #1
Pixelophobia: 6.3 / 10 by Łukasz Ankudo
Hell Warders is a bad game that doesn't justify the price tag. It's a simplistic action tower defense game that underdelivers when it comes to both defining factors - being an action game and being a TD.
Nintendo Life: 5 / 10 by Dom Reseigh-Lincoln
Hell Warders isn't the prettiest of games you'll play on Nintendo Switch – even in docked mode its visuals really struggle to shake off that last-gen sheen – but look past its unoriginal Gothic aesthetic and there's a competent (if uninspiring) Tower Defence game to be had. If you're planning to tackle this alone, it's best avoided, but if you want to hook up with the admittedly small number of people playing online, the occupants of hell certainly won't slay themselves.
TheSixthAxis: 7 / 10 by Adrian Burrows
Hell Warders provides an innovative spin on the tower defence genre, fusing third person combat, RPG elements and online play to great effect. Look past the bugs and uninspiring visuals and you'll find a deep and rewarding action strategy game.
