The next installment in a Dynasty series, letting us play as a newly turned vampire. Vampires: Bloodlord Rising has us expanding our headquarters, manage a settlement and face off against numerous enemies. The game supports co-op for four players.
Vampires: Bloodlord Rising (formerly Vampire Dynasty) is a combination of an RPG, simulator, survival and strategy game. It's the next installment in the Dynasty series, set in a dark, vampire-plagued world. The game was developed by a Polish studio Mehuman Games.
Plot
The game is set in the Middle Ages, in the fictional land of Sangavia, in the Balkans. We play as a newly-turned vampire, gaining powerful abilities and control over a fiefdom. It's up to us whether we'll be a bloodthirsty tyrant or keep our hunger in check to be a just ruler.
Mechanics
Gameplay-wise, Vampires: Bloodlord Rising is reminiscent of the rest of the series, one of its main mechanics being expanding the protagonist's headquarters. We must gather resources to build tall towers, chambers and crypts we can fill with decorations and useful tools. The player also needs to manage a nearby settlement - drawing in craftsmen, solve the people's problems or terrorizing them. The most useful of our subjects can be rewarded with vampirism, creating a new bloodline to conquer new regions with.
Sangavia is an open world full of forests, mountains and swamps. We can traverse it while experiencing the story and explore it freely, shapeshifted into a bat. There's plenty of combat to be had - depending on our preferences and the situation, we can ambush enemies from the shadows and drain them dry or eviscerate them with our claws.
Game modes
Vampires: Bloodlord Rising supports singleplayer and co-op for up to four people. Players can go adventuring together or focus on building a castle.
