Usual June is an action adventure game starring a young girl trying to save the world. It was developed by Finji, a studio known for Overland.

Plot

Usual June is set in the fictional Fen Harbor. The game's protagonist is the titular June. Her planned holiday goes down the drain when she discovers her hometown's dark secret and learns of a space-time disaster looming over Fen Harbor. June decides to save the world, assisted by her friends, both alive and dead.

Mechanics

Usual June is a third-person game. The player must explore Fen Harbor, learn its secrets, talk to June's friends, other townspeople, and fight terrifying otherworldly creatures. Aside from regular enemies, June will also face powerful bosses. Combat is fast-paced, requiring use of melee weapons and supernatural abilities.

Technical aspects

Usual June features colorful, cartoonish graphics and a unique animation style. During cutscenes and exploration June moves in a jerky manner reminiscent of stop-motion animation, while in combat her movement becomes completely smooth.
