Unreal Championship for XBX is a first-person shooter. It is the first installment of the Unreal series that was released on the Microsoft Xbox console. The title was developed by Digital Extremes and published by the French company Atari.
Gameplay
Unreal Championship is an entry in the very popular Unreal series which was previously available mostly on personal computers and on consoles Sony PlayStation 2 and Sega Dreamcast. The title combines the very popular multiplayer mode with a very hard singleplayer mode (in which player competes against bots controlled by artificial intelligence). The game uses the improvements recently introduced in the PC installments of the series, such as the adrenaline that allows performing effective combos. The developers from Digital Extremes adapted this version of the game to the specifics of the consoles. In addition to many assistance mechanics (aim-assist, easier movement etc.), the difficulty level was reduced. However, more experienced players can increase it through game options.
Unreal Championship for XBX contains 28 different characters, each of which has unique story and individual abilities. Their skills can be tested on one of 25 maps placed both in great buildings and open areas. Each level has dozens of vehicles which can be, but don’t have to be used in combat.
Misc.
The developers created a very advanced multiplayer mode. By using Xbox Live! or a few consoles linked with a cable up to 16 people can play together. There are a few modes available, including “Deathmatch”, “Capture the Flag” and “Bombing Run”. The players can communicate by using microphones, which is especially useful in team matches.
