Tyrant's Realm

Tyrant's Realm is an action game with roguelike elements, inspired mainly by productions from those released for the first PlayStation, as well as the soulslike genre. Behind the development of this item is the independent studio Team Tyrant, which has a portfolio of projects of lesser caliber, namely Drunk and Drunk: Relapsed.

The plot

Tyrant's Realm takes us to a dark fantasy world, leaning towards collapse under the rule of the titular tyrant. During the gameplay, we play the role of a character whose family has been fighting against the sinister ruler for generations. It is our job to finally succeed in dealing with the tyrant once and for all.

Gameplay

In Tyrant's Realm, we view the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). While traversing the locations, we deal primarily with fighting enemies. On the battlefield, we make use of a wide range of white weapons - from swords and shields, to spears and axes.

Clashes require from us not so much dexterity as tactical sense and perceptiveness. The key to success here is both efficient attacking and quick dodging, as well as careful observation of adversaries' movements in search of their weak points and gaps in defense. At the same time, we are faced with serial enemies and much stronger than them bosses.

The game world is procedurally generated, and after death there is nothing left for us to do but start the crossing over again. As we progress, our character grows in strength, not only thanks to more powerful equipment (weapons, shields and armor can be found in the game world or bought from merchants), but also thanks to various upgrades such as runes or skull altars.

Graphics

Tyrant's Realm's graphics are in a retro style, reminiscent of the first PlayStation.
