Espionage is the second major expansion for Tropico 5, an economic strategy game released in 2014. It was developed by Haemimont Games, the creators of the original Tropico 5.
Espionage concentrates on such elements of the state as the intelligence, military and invigilation of the society. The developers prepared four previously unavailable buildings that include a spy academy, security gates (to discover enemy agents), dungeon (to imprison the discovered ones) and a mechanized garrison (in case of an enemy invasion).
These features come in handy especially in the new story campaign called „The Maltese Toucan”. It consists of six missions in which we are trying to protect a certain treasure, dealing with revolts and sabotage in the process. Apart from that, the add-on introduces four previously unknown islands, where we can build our banana republic, along with a set of new events and tasks to be used in free game mode. Also, there is no shortage of odd and ends like extra costumes and accessories for El Presidente as well as additional songs for the soundtrack.
The features of Espionage may also be used in multiplayer mode.
