An action-adventure game from Spiral House studio, set in 1950 in Northern Europe. Player takes control of two characters – a boy named Otto and a big Troll. As the village of the first protagonist is destroyed by a mysterious cataclysm, they set on a journey to find a new home for him. Most of the game comes down to exploring locations, solving simple puzzles and fighting or avoiding enemies.

Troll and I is an action-adventure game for PC, PS4 and etc. from developers of Spiral House studio, which took part in making a few well-known projects, like MotorStorm, LittleBigPlanet and Blur.

Plot

In Troll and I for PC, PS4 and etc., players control two characters – a young boy named Otto and big Troll. The story is set in Northern Europe of 1950 starts with mysterious cataclysm that destroyed Otto’s village, which forces him to look for a new home. However, he meets and befriends the mentioned beast at the very beginning of his adventure. As the unusual duo sets out, players not only discover the secrets of the world, but also explore a bond between both characters.

Game mechanics

The game’s core is exploration of closed locations, which are filled with traps and other dangers, including troll hunters who we can fight using different powers and abilities of protagonists. Otto is quite agile and is master at using spear, while Troll posses great strength and magical abilities.

However, sometimes fighting may not be the best solution, and Troll and I lets players sneak by, either using Otto’s small posture or Troll’s ability to become invisible. They also have to ensure they have food, for example by hunting animals. This is complemented by crafting system, used to make weapons and other items with elements we find during travel.

Game modes

Troll and I for PC, PS4 and etc. offers both single player and multiplayer option. The first requires players to switch between heroes to overcome obstacles. The second is cooperation mode, in which one player controls Otto, while the other acts as Troll.
