Tree of Savior for PC (originally known also as Project R1) is an isometric MMORPG considered a spiritual heir to Ragnarok Online. Tree of Savior was developed by South-Korean IMC Games, established by the creator of the original game - Hakkyu Kim.
Mechanics
In Tree of Savior for PC, the player assumes the role of a hero traversing a fantasy world, solving problems of its inhabitants and fighting different enemies. These activities are rewarded with experience allowing to develop the character so they can face more and more dangerous enemies and threats. When it comes to character development itself, the game stands out with an extensive system of character classes. It offers eighty in total – apart from the basic ones available at first, the game features advanced classes. However, unlocking these requires a some effort. This can be a matter of choosing certain skills in accordance with a pattern, but obtaining "the profession" will require the player to complete a series of quests given by a teacher living in some inaccessible part of the game world.
Combat is one of the more important aspects of the game. The combat system is arcade here, resembling hack'n'slash games. Over two hundred different bosses featured in the game on its debut is a proof of how greatly was combat emphasized by the developers.
Considering how dangerous the bosses are, the players are given an opprotunity to join themselves into groups in order to descend into dungeons together or organize raids. PvP combat is also a part of the game. Competition is visible also in the rankings the game offers, gathering data on players' achievements, best-equipped characters, or characters who have defeated the largest numbers of monsters for example.
Tree of Savior for PC resembles hack'n'slash games in certain aspects mainly because the game is played from an isometric perspective. Both the locations and character models are three-dimensional. Although the visuals resemble an anime series, the colors are not overly bright contrary to many similar games.
