Down Under is a subtitle of an expansion for Transport Giant, a complex economic strategy game. The game takes place in the second half of XIX century and we play as an owner of a transport company.

Mechanics

Down Under is set in Australia. Transporting people and various goods (ostrich eggs, kiwi, kangaroos, etc.) has their own specifications (for example: – a part of the continent may have a very good rail network while another areas can only be accessed by one and very old line). The ability to use the so-called "road trains" is very interesting. Those vehicles are giant, almost 50-meter long trucks that are used for transporting goods to other parts of the continent. In addition to that we can choose from more than 30, faithfully recreated, Australian transport vehicles such as Antonov 2 and Antonov AN72 planes or trains like X-Trapolis, Comeng and Hitachi. During the game we must cooperate with car factories, mines but also with owners of crocodile and ostrich farms.

Game modes

Down Under offers 12 various scenarios that spans throughout 200 years. Among the missions that we must complete are, e.g. making regular supplies to villages of hard working miners or transporting valuable fuel to particular places (in the later parts of the game). Success is only possible using the newest technologies that shorten the time of transporting goods by a lot. In addition to that the game offers fifteen huge maps.
