Train Simulator Classic is a new instalment of a popular train simulation series. Once again, we take on the role of a train engineer, driving a train across authentic railway networks.
Train Simulator Classic is the new installment of the Train Simulator series, originating from 2009. It was developed and published by Dovetail Games.
The game itself hasn't changed since Train Simulator 2022. The new release is a form of celebrating the series' twelth anniversary. The developers decided to return to the classic cover design, absent from the series ever since Train Simulator 2016.
Mechanics
In terms of mechanics, Train Simulator Classic doesn't differ from the series' previous installments. Once again, our job is to drive a train. The game revolves around delivering our payload along a designated route while staying within the realms of our timetable. This task, however, isn't always easy. We must watch out for speed limits and traffic lights, while adjusting our driving to the weather conditions. If we make a mistake and derail the train or run a red light, the scenario automatically ends in failure.
Our performance is also judged - our actions are graded with points (either positive or negative), which describe how well we did during a scenario.
Technical aspects
Just like earlier, owners of the previous Train Simulator games are going to receive a free upgrade in the form of the newest installment. Additionally, Train Simulator Classic is fully compatible with all DLC released for the previous games.

A series of dedicated railroad simulation games, created and developed by Dovetail Games studio. The roots of the series date back to 2007, when it debuted a train simulator titled Rail Simulator. After the group responsible for it was disbanded, the three developers decided to continue the development of this project and formed their own team. Two years later, the developers put into the hands of players their first original work.
