Plot
Townseek takes place in Explora, a fantasy world inhabited by humans, as well as humanoid creatures like cats and sharks. The player character sets off on a journey through this world aboard his airship to discover its wonders, secrets and to find the lost legacy of the famous Sir Reginald Sharkingston.
Mechanics
The gameplay of Townseek is shown from the top-down perspective. While traversing the game's world the player discovers a variety of locations, such as small and large cities, exotic monuments, mines and farms, as well as admires the picturesque landscapes and natural wonders, such as dense forests, massive icebergs, sandy desert and imposing volcanoes. Throughout our travels we encounter numerous and diverse people of Explora. They can offer our quests and an opportunity to trade; this lets us acquire unique items and various upgrades as well as cosmetics for our airship.
Over time our diary fills with memories; acquired items also serve as souvenirs of our adventures. During breaks from exploring we can devote ourselves to other activities, such as searching for treasures or artifacts, fishing or farming.
