Game mechanics

We observe the action from a third person perspective. We explore linear locations and every now and then hordes of enemies stand on our way. Clashes with them take place on specially designated areas, from which we won't be released until we defeat the appropriate number of opponents. We have different types of attacks at our disposal: quick, area and special, which allow us to throw enemies into the air or stop them in place. Thanks to an effective combination of blows, lengthening combos and quick getting rid of enemies we gain a style meter, which evaluates how well the fight went.

After each battle we receive experience points, money and materials. The amount of them is determined by the number of defeated enemies and the style of victory. Each gained level increases our statistics (health, inflicted damage, etc.), and thanks to the materials we improve our headquarters. Upgrades allow us to gain new companions who have special abilities used during battles. In the headquarters we also encounter various random events, unique to this location, and we can play available mini-games.

An addition to the basic game mechanics is the photo mode, which allows us to capture any moments from the story. We can also choose the game mode that determines the difficulty level: "easy", adapted for beginners, deprived of some mechanics that make gameplay difficult, and "regular", created for people experienced in action games.

Technical aspects

For the first time in the history of the series, the game was made in 3D. The graphics is made in an anime style, full of colors and abounding in elements characteristic for Japanese culture.
