Total Recall is a browser-based MMO game set in the world of the future, based on the motifs of a film under the same title. This is the production of ZQGame, a Chinese studio specializing in this type of titles.
The history of the whole brand is quite confusing. It all began with a science-fiction short story published in 1966 by Philip K. Dick, We Can Remember It For You Wholesale. In 1990 Paul Verhoeven made a film Total Recall with Arnold Schwarzenegger on his canvas. In 2012, a remake directed by Lena Wiseman was released, with Colin Farrell playing the main role. It is on this last film that the game is based.
The action takes place in the future, at a time when two superpowers - Euro-America and New Shanghai - compete for dominance over the Earth. Instead of an open war, both powers preferred the use of modern technologies and well-trained secret agents. Now, however, this may change. Euro-America is now governed by Vilos Cohaagen, who has already started preparations for a full-scale invasion of New Shanghai.
We start the game by creating our own character. Then in the skin of our virtual alter-ego we enter the game world to look for adventures and fame. The authors made it possible to take part in missions controlled by artificial intelligence (PvE), as well as to compete with other players (PvP). The whole system uses a free model with micropayments.
