Tomorrow Never Dies is the first of the projects based on the license of James Bond movies, which was released by Electronic Arts after the acquisition of franchise rights. The game combines shooting and stealth elements, enabling us to observe the action from third person's perspective.
Story
The powerful media magnate Elliot Carver wants to lead to a conflict between the global powers and cause the outbreak of another world war. The task of stopping him is undertaken by Her Majesty's Agent 007. During the mission, he meets a Chinese intelligence officer, Wai Lin, with whom he joins forces. Looking for the necessary evidence, the two spies travel to Germany and Vietnam, among other locations.
Mechanics
Tommorow Never Dies is a TPP shooter. As part of the campaign prepared by the devs, the players have to perform several missions in different sceneries, eliminating enemies, searching for necessary items, solving simple logic puzzles and recreating sequences known from the movie hit. Each level consists of a number of minor tasks that we are required to bcomplete in order to complete the map. In order to successfully complete subsequent missions, the heroes are helped by extensive equipment, which, apart from an array of weapons, also includes a set of unique gadgets typical for agent 007, such as a laser locator, a mine detector or a fingerprint scanner.
The devs have prepared several tasks that go beyond the usual formula, during which the hero has to flee from killers on skis or pilot a modern fighter. In one of the missions, the players also take control of Bond's ally, agent Wei Lin.
Technical aspects
The game from Black Ops Entertainment is strongly based on the movie license. In the game, the devs depicted the silhouettes of actors, the characteristic equipment of agent 007 and used musical motifs associated with the movie. However, Pierce Brosnan did not participate in the work on the title. Adam Blackwood lent his voice to the hero.
