Titan Attacks!, released on PSV, PC, PS4, PS3 and X360, is a production of an independent Puppy Games studio, which is a reference to the cult Space Invaders. The creators of this title decided, however, to introduce a number of solutions that significantly diversify the course of the game.
Plot
The player takes on the role of a commander of the last tank on Earth and our goal is to save the planet from the alien invasion. In order to do this, we try to shoot down groups of enemies hanging in the air and avoid their bullets.
Mechanics
During the campaign consisting of one hundred levels we visit the Earth, the Moon, Mars, Saturn and the titular Titan, which is the aliens' homeland. From fighters and bombers to huge mother-ships, we will face a number of different types of opponents. Each destroyed enemy gives us money which we then use to buy improvements for our tank. We can strengthen shields, add rocket launchers, laser guns, etc.
We obtain additional funds by shooting at the falling wrecks of damaged enemy ships. From time to time, power-ups also appear on the screen, which, for example, eliminate the dangers that are currently on the map. However, thanks to the challenge mode, we can unlock special prizes.
We compare the obtained results with other users via Internet statistics. The creators also prepared a number of achievements.
Technical aspects
In terms of audiovisual setting, Titan Attacks! refers to the classics of the genre, thanks to the use of large pixels. An analogous solution was used in an earlier production of Puppy Games studio embedded in the same universe, entitled Revenge of the Titans.
