Those Who Rule

Those Who Rule is a tactical RPG set in a world on the brink of destruction. Independent developer Eldin Turulja is behind the development of this production.

The plot of

Those Who Rule takes us to a fantastic land, over which hangs the specter of a conflict threatening its existence. During the game we become the leader of a group of characters caught in a web of betrayal. It is up to us whether the protagonists will manage to unravel the conspiracy that is the source of all the chaos, or on the contrary - they will allow themselves to be drawn into it.

Gameplay

Getting to know and shaping the story

In Those Who Rule, we view the action from a bird's eye view. During the gameplay we have conversations with the locals and gradually learn more secrets of the game world. In addition, over time we discover more plot threads, and make decisions that affect the course of the story and its ending. The choices we make are most often not morally unambiguous.

Combat system

In addition, as we progress, we recruit characters who join our team. This is important because combat is one of the main elements of the game. Clashes take place in turn-based mode, in arenas covered with a grid of hexagonal p?les. Success on the battlefield is determined both by skillful juggling of characters' abilities and their positioning on the battlefield.

Team and character development

Individual heroes and heroines represent different classes and have individual sets of abilities. Interestingly, the development system implemented here allows you to change the professions of individual squad members. In addition, we increase the combat potential of the squad with the help of increasingly better equipment (which we can produce ourselves).

Graphics

The graphic design of Those Who Rule combines cartoon aesthetics with low poly style. Character models and elements of the environment are based on a small number of clearly visible polygons and "drawn" with thick, cartoonish lines; portraits, on the other hand, look as if drawn by hand.
