THEY is an impressive action game, in which we observe the events from the first person's perspective. The action of this production takes us into the near future. We fight spectacular duels with intelligent monsters.

THEY is an impressive action game, in which we observe the events from the first person perspective. The action of this production takes us into the near future (specifically to 2012). We play as a British soldier who, together with his friend, managed to survive the invasion of well-armed robots. During the game, the main character learns that these machines are controlled by hostile creatures from other planets, invisible to ordinary mortals. Their complete elimination becomes our main target, as long as the soldiers under our control are able to acquire the ability to detect aliens effectively.

THEY largely resembles such shooters as Prey or The Darkness. Metropolis Software is responsible for the preparation of this game. The company has developed titles such as Infernal, Reflux, Archangel and Gorky in the past.

In the single-player campaign, we mainly deal with the elimination of the above-mentioned robots, inside which there are invaders, functioning as parasites. As you can easily guess, in order to kill an alien, we must first destroy their outer shell. During the game, we use an arsenal of interestingly designed weapons. The developer took care of an innovative system, which allows for any modification of the existing weapons. As a result, we equip them with various components or change their general characteristics. We can also decorate our weapon with photos. The enemies are characterized by considerable intelligence, meaning that the fights are not only spectacular but also quite demanding.

A very strong emphasis was put on the impressive audiovisual setting. During the game, we move around the cities of Great Britain destroyed by the invaders. THEY uses an engine called NextNitrous, offering both full support for the latest DirectX libraries and simulating realistic physics of the game world. It is also worth mentioning that selected elements of the environment may be destroyed. This can also have a significant impact on the development of the game or unlock passage (e.g. by knocking down the wall on enemies standing next to each other). In addition to the single-player campaign, the authors also took care of a fully fledged and equally innovative multiplayer.
