The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia Description
The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia is an original bullet hell shooter in which the main mechanic is typing the words on the keyboard (so-called typing game). The game was developed by the independent studio MorbidWare.
Plot
The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia takes us on a journey to Rome. The city of the Holy Church is in decline - its streets are ruled by lawlessness and the demons are trying to seize power over it. The latter is opposed by Ray Bibbia, an exorcist who, in an attempt to stop the evil from realizing its plans, gradually discovers the truth about his dark past.
Mechanics
The action in The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia is presented in a top-down perspective. As we play, we travel through different locations, talk to neutral characters and face ten different bosses. Among the latter, we will find a crazy gangster, a dark maid or even the Pope himself. To defeat enemies, we have to avoid their projectiles and perform attacks.
Although we control the hero directly, all other activities are done by typing specific words. In this way, we not only interact with the game world but also fight our opponents with exorcism; it is complicated by the fact that these incantations occur in both English and Latin.
It's worth noting that the game can be played with the keyboard or gamepad; when the latter is plugged in, the word-typing is replaced by a rhythmic mini-game.
Game modes
Although The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia offers only the single-player mode, the game also has online record boards where we can show our scores.
Technical aspects
The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia has simple, two-dimensional graphics made in pixel art technique. The gameplay is accompanied by a soundtrack by GosT.
