As the title of the expansion suggests, The Sims 4: Dine Out concentrates on the theme of cooking. It allows the Sims to visit a restaurant and eat a meal with friends outside the house. That’s not all – one can create his own restaurant which will function even when the owner is not there.

The Sims 4: Dine Out Description

The Sims 4: Dine Out is the third game pack for The Sims 4, a game that was released on PC, PS4 and XONE in September 2014. The Sims 4 is the fourth installment of the very popular series of simulation games developed by Electronic Arts and, as the title of the expansion suggests, Dine Out concentrates on cooking. It allows the player to open and manage his own restaurant. The expansion was developed by the creators of the core game, EA Maxis.

Mechanics

Dine Out game pack released on PC, PS4 and XONE offers a new form of activity for the Sims – a chance to visit a restaurant and eat a tasty meal at the city with friends. However, this option is just an introduction to the centerpiece of the expansion. Sims can create their own restaurant which will function even if the owner is not inside. In the game, the player can use a few pre-defined designs of the restaurant or create one from scratches by deciding about such details like name, banner and the dress code of the employees. One can also give a unique touch to the building by improving, expanding and decorating the restaurant. Thanks to the user-friendly The Sims 4 workshop, projects created by the player can be shared with other members of the community.

One of the key aspects of each restaurant is the preparation of menu. The menu is divided into four main categories – drinks, appetizers, main meals and desserts. The developers were quite creative and the Dine Out game pack contains more than just the most popular meals from all over the world. One can also experiment with more ambitious menu and prepare a piece of cooking art from the so-called molecular kitchen for the guests. This allows serving such unordinary meals like for example romantic bacon flakes or liquid lava on volcano pasta. The meals can be immortalized with photos and then presented on Simstagram. They can also be used to decorate the walls of the house and of the restaurant. What’s interesting, the meals will be graded by experts who will award the restaurant with various numbers of stars.
