Rock of Pariahs is a racing game enriched with elements of arcade shooting. The development team of the Centauri Production studio is responsible for production. Players play the role of teenage members of a rock band who have exposed themselves to the head of the mafia. The game consists in insane escapes from gangsters using such vehicles as Skoda 105, Avia or Zetor tractor. The game is also known as The Ro(c)k Con Artist.
Rock of Pariahs is a crazy arcade game with elements of shooters and races. The whole piece draws heavily on the film trilogy directed by Karel Janák. People from the Centauri studio are responsible for the production, who have titles such as Gooka on their conscience: The Mystery of Janatris and Evil Days of Luckless John.
The main role is played by four teenagers who are real masters in bringing trouble on their heads. Their latest idea - to form a rock band - also turned out to be fatal. This is due to the boss of the local mafia, with whom the boys took on a debt. Mafioso is demanding a refund of money for what would-be rock stars cannot afford. In this way, an extremely dynamic chase begins with the use of fast (though not only) cars and weapons of various caliber.
The game is a crazy ride without a handle, with an unrestrained demolition of the environment. There are twelve stages to go, divided into four types of areas where we race: factory, small town, forest backwoods and streets of a big city. We use eight cars, which are very different from each other, from Skoda or Avia, through Zetor tractor, to licensed Lexus models - LS 430 and SC 430. On the routes we can find four types of improvements to the machines (among others a tennis ball launcher and a machine gun), adding some spice to the gameplay. From time to time it is necessary to exchange fire using one of the eight available weapons.
Eight types of opponents stand in the way of us, apart from the mentioned mafia, they can be crazy tax collectors and even a group of hot-heated ladies. For a round off, the authors of the game gave the players the need to face six bosses, requiring a greater effort in the duel. It takes six to twelve hours to overcome all the difficulties, depending on the skill of the players.
The game uses CPAL 3D and Meqon engines (to generate physics-compliant item behavior).
