The Library of Babel is a 2D platform game with strong stealth game elements. The project was developed by Tanuki Game Studio.

Plot

The game's scenario is inspired by The Library of Babel, a short story by Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges. The action of the game takes place 20 thousand years after the extinction of the human species. In the vision of the future presented by the authors, the Earth is inhabited by robots that have lost most of the knowledge of their creators.

This world was filled with harmony for a long time, but it is threatened by the discovery of the ancient library of Babel, containing all the texts both from the past and those that are yet to be written. The player takes on the role of a robot named Ludovik, who is sent to this structure to investigate a murder and discover the reasons for the library's sudden closure.

Game mechanics

The Library of Babel is a stealth platform game. We explore 2D maps, overcome obstacles and avoid dangers.

Our hero is not strong in a direct combat. Therefore, it is crucial to avoid enemies by sneaking and using acrobatic abilities of Ludovik.

The game features adventure game elements. The player can talk with encountered characters and collect items, which he later uses to solve logic puzzles.
