The Idolmaster Must Songs - Aka-Ban (also known as The IdolM@ster: Must Songs - Aka-Ban) is a spin-off of the rhythm game series Taiko no Tatsujin, in which we play songs produced for The Idolmaster games. The Japanese company Bandai Namco is responsible for the creation of the title. The production was published simultaneously with The Idolmaster Must Songs - Ao-Ban and was created to celebrate the tenth anniversary of The Idolmaster franchise. Both titles differ only in the list of available songs, so players can move their saved game states and trophies between them.

Mechanics

The gameplay in The Idolmaster Must Songs - Aka-Ban does not differ from that offered by countless installments of Taiko no Tatsujin. Our task is to beat the rhythm on taiko drums. We do this with just two buttons. During the game, red and blue symbols of the drum are moving from right to left along a line, indicating where we want to hit the instrument (red - center, blue - edges). The title offers four difficulty levels, which increase the frequency of symbols and introduce additional challenges.

In addition to the standard gameplay, which consists of completing subsequent songs, the game also offers completely new elements taken from The Idolmaster series. In Live Stage mode, the players take on the role of a music producer, who organizes concerts, gaining experience points and money, allowing for the purchase of additional items and accessories.

Technical aspects

The Idolmaster Must Songs - Aka-Ban uses the classic visuals of the Taiko no Tatsujin series. The game offers has a total of forty songs from the original arcade edition of The Idolmaster, the first console version of the franchise for Xbox 360, as well as The Idolmaster: Live for You, The Idolmaster SP games and stand-alone singles and albums.
