The House of the Dead 2: Remake

The House of the Dead 2: Remake is an refreshed edition of the second installment of the famous rail shooter series. The game is one of two remakes of The House of the Dead series developed by Polish duo Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio on order from SEGA.

Plot

As in the original, The House of the Dead 2: Remake continues the story of the undead plague, which this time has visited an unnamed town. Although the game features some old friends, a new duo of agents have taken over as the main characters: James Taylor and Gary Stewart. It's up to them to uncover the mystery behind a new invasion of monsters, possibly linked to the experiments of Dr Curien from the first game.

Mechanics

The House of the Dead 2: Remake is a classic shooter. We observe the action from the first person perspective (FPP), but we can' t move freely around the locations. Instead, we move the crosshair around the screen and shoot zombies and other monsters. We can also find here all the improvements in comparison with the first part of the cycle known from the original edition of The House of the Dead 2, but we didn't forget about a slight modification of the gameplay and adjusting it to the preferences of the modern audience.

Game modes

The House of the Dead 2: Remake allows - in accordance with the other rail shooters - to play solo or in co-op mode on a shared screen.

Technical aspects

As in the case of The House of the Dead: Remake, the Polish developers have modernised the 3D visuals and adapted the controls to current standards.
