The Horus Heresy: Legions is a classic card game set in the Games Workshop’s techno-fantasy universe of Warhammer 40,000. The game has been developed by Everguild studio.
Plot
As the title suggests, The Horus Heresy: Legions’ story is set during the times of Hours Heresy, when one of the strongest sons of the Emperor of Men started a long civil war in the Empire. As a result, some of space marines legions become corrupted and swear their souls to gods of Chaos.
Game mechanics
The Horus Hersey: Legions is a typical card game, with turn-based battles in which we use cards and rules created by developers. While some cards can be placed at the field in any situation, most of them require energy points generated in each turn (the amount depends on cards already in play). Cards on the field (and some in a hand) can be used to attack an opponent, though whether it succeeds or not depends on statistics of each unit or place. The main objective is to reduce the opponent’s life points to zero, which are assigned to a commander or base card from the beginning of the game.
Like in other similar titles, each duel can earn us more cards. Those can be obtained from boxes received after the game.
Game modes
The game focuses on multiplayer mode but also features a vast story campaign.
Technical aspects
The visuals of The Horus Heresy: Legions don’t stand out from other card games. Both cards’ artworks and backgrounds are of good quality and reference Warhammer 40,000 universe.
