The Garden Path

The Garden Path is a life simulation in which our task is to take care of a long forgotten garden. The game was developed by an independent studio carrotcake.

Plot

The Garden Path takes us on a journey to a long forgotten garden. During the game we play as a character who decides to abandon the old life and settle in the wilderness, trying to restore its former glory.

Mechanics

In The Garden Path we observe the action from the top-down view. Game gives us freedom in how we will play in it. We can freely explore the garden (a vast open world has been implemented here), talk with its inhabitants and perform tasks assigned by them, as well as spend time taking care of the plants. All this without fighting for survival or having to watch the clock ticking.

As the garden grows, it begins to bustle with life and attracts a variety of characters, many of whom may decide to stay here for a while. These include a tea-loving monkey named Bunk, and a Greenlandic musk ox named Larto. What's interesting, time in this game flows even without our participation. So nothing stands in the way, for example, of waiting for the moment when the flowers we care for will bloom, to turn the game off and come back to it the next day.

Technical aspects

The Garden Path has colourful, hand-drawn graphics. The gameplay is accompanied by a cosy soundtrack, which changes depending on the time of day.
