A mobile real-time strategy game and the first production by Substantial Games. The Ember Conflict is set in a fantasy land, but unlike many similar games, it does not feature a story campaign, focusing entirely on multiplayer battles (one-on-one and two-on-two). The battles are short, up to several minutes long. The controls in The Ember Conflict are gesture-based, and you lead your troops by drawing lines on the screen.

The Ember Conflict is a real-time strategy and a debut of Substantial Games.

Mechanics

The Ember Conflict was developed from scratch exclusively for smartphones and tablets. That is why the whole interface is based on gestures. There are no buttons on the screens - you can control the units by drawing lines with your fingers. The clashes are played on 3D maps and the key role is played by the effective use of the terrain.

While playing, we can command a maximum of a six-person squad, and its composition is selected from eighteen types of units. This doesn't seem to be a large number, but the authors have also developed a system for modifying their equipment (a total of 64 items), which means that the army's diversity is much bigger.

The specificity of mobile devices was also taken into account during the development of the combat system. As a result, the battles in The Ember Conflict are dynamic - it only takes a few minutes to determine the winner.
