The Company Man
A platform action game in which we play the role of a corporate employee forced to fight for his job. In The Company Man, we run ahead, avoid traps and jump on platforms, and eliminate enemies using the keyboard or shooting them with e-mails.
The Company Man is an action platform game that portrays in a distorted mirror the charms of working in a corporation. It was developed by Forust, an indie studio from Malaysia.
Plot
The main character of the game The Company Man is Jim, who, after graduating from college, decided to start a professional career at the Good Water Company. Things quickly began to get out of hand, causing the protagonist to be forced to fight to keep his job.... and also to fulfill his dream of becoming the CEO of a large corporation.
Game mechanics
The Company Man is a side-scroller. We tun through the levels corresponding to the various departments of the Good Water Company. The entire corporation is shown here in a distorting mirror, so it should come as no surprise that the accounting department is depicted as an ice-covered land, while in the human resources department, for example, Jim encounters a veritable mountain of paperwork on his way.
Flashing through the stages, the protagonist jumps over platforms, avoids numerous traps, and fights with his co-workers. The protagonist eliminates enemies using unusual weapons, as he uses a keyboard to fight in close quarters, while at a distance he defeats enemies by shooting them with... e-mails. In addition to rank-and-file employees of the Good Water Company, from time to time Jim also faces sinister bosses (bosses).
Technical aspects
The Company Man features colorful graphics made in a cartoon style.
